perfect physique?

Getting your body into shape doesn’t mean that you have to obtain some sort of  ”perfect” physique.  Don’t strive for what society sees as perfection.  We all have a perfect version of ourselves.  That version is one where we are total body healthy, can move about comfortably, feel rested, well nourished, and emotionally well.  Only you know the perfect version of you.  Strive towards that, nothing more, nothing less.

Whew! Finally we can get outside!

Time to gear up and take advantage of the warm summer sun.  Get those sneakers on and get outside!  Make it easier and link up with a friend or two.  Commit to losing 10 or 20 lbs together.  Remember to be consistent!  Most importantly don’t give up on yourself!  No one will love you like you will!

Winding down

As this contest diet of mine comes to a close I want to thank those of you in my life who have been of great inspiration to me during this training season.  I have never enjoyed getting ready for a show as much as I have this time.  Every aspect of it has been rewarding.  I am so excited to head to Columbus next week and feel such peace about where I am physically, mentally, and most of all spiritually.  Again, thank you for your continued motivation and support.  I appreciate you all!

As per many requests

From here on out I will be using the blog to document my workouts and dietary intake.  I have  had several clients over the past few months ask if I would do this as a method of reference for them.  Remember that just because it works for me doesn’t mean it will work for you.  The food intake is also based on my daily activity levels.  Everyone is different-just keep that in mind.  Please feel free to post questions and comments as you check this new page out!  You can find the diet and training log labeled Brandi’s training blog.  Let me know what you think!

A new lease on life.

I was with a client last week and another client walks in and gets on the elliptical.  My client asks me how much weight the lady has lost and I said about 80lbs.  At that moment it occurred to me just how significant that really is.  Eighty lbs has changed and will forever change her life.   She is no longer the same woman as before.  She has not only changed her weight, she has changed her emotional and mental opinion of herself.  She has forever changed her longterm health status and overall wellness outlook.  This is monumental.  I often take the weight-loss game for granted as I know how it works and I know how to make it happen.  It is a way of life for me and I strive to make it a way of life for my clients.  It’s easy to lose sight of the long term goals we have and the long road that it takes to reach them.  I am challenging myself and I would challenge you to take that next step into changing your life forever, changing the way you think and feel about yourself and ultimately changing your legacy.

To cardio or not to cardio, that is the question.

Ok most of you know me well enough to know the answer to this.  Of course you cardio!! If you are in weight loss “mode” or desire to be in a leaning out “mode” then you must cardio!  When training remember to keep that heart rate within safe guidelines-that said-most of us tend to not work with enough intensity.  Step it up!  Lose your breath!  Those people on the treadmill next to you at the gym will look the exact same this time next year, you however will not!  Get intense!  Don’t be afraid to push yourself to your limit.  Find new limits as you progress through your training and set goals to push through those.  Remember only we control our bodies-own yours!

Calling all motivators!!

I would encourage you all to be a motivator to someone in your life in regards to health and wellness-specifically exercise.  Studies have shown that when we are a part of a group of people who keep each  other accountable that we ourselves are more successful in those endeavors.  Lift eachother up and motivate!!!
